This blog is so hilariously true, that I will dedicate a whole post on my blog about it. Often, we wonder, why am I the way I am.... is everyone like this? Well this blog may be able to answer some of those questions. http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.wordpress.com/ I will note a couple of my favorites because there are a ton of posts, you can search for these if you would like.
#27 Marathons - In my opinion, this entire post is true. My guess is 80% of marathon finshers have that exact picture! My favorite line... "Not to win, just to run."
#63 Expensive Sandwiches
#42 Sushi - I love this one because it seems Sushi is a big thing this days. My favorite line... "To them, it’s everything they want: foreign culture, expensive, healthy, and hated by the ‘uneducated.’"
#81 Graduate School
#76 Bottles of Water - You have to read this one, it's hilarious!
#29 80s Night - my favorite line.... "Also, less respected artists like Wham, Rick Astley and Cameo are still easy for white people to dance to."
#15 Yoga - My favorite... "Yoga is also an expensive activity. It gives white people the chance to showcase their $80 pants. "
I find it so hilarious because I fall into some of these "white people" traps. Although, I am sure it is not all about race this guys certainly has some funny things to say!

Moab Half Marathon
Traci and I ran another half in Moab. We had a really fun time!! The weather was beautiful and it was a gorgeous run, aside from the last 2 miles on the highway... and we didn't even get a late night phone call to the hotel telling us to quiet down! To get in the Spring half marathon you have to put your name in a lottery and be chosen to run. There were 5,000 runners and luckily Traci and I both got in, whoo hoo - Who wants to do that alone! I was suprised how many people from Salt Lake I saw in Moab on such a busy weekend. Run on little runners!

My ROCKband

I don't know if you have experienced the joy that is ROCKBAND, but I certainly have. Rockband can be described as a mix between your dreams coming true and your true talents coming out. My friends and I even have our own band. We refer to ourselves as 'Tap that Crack' - long story... but the moral is DON'T tap the crack on your windshield EVEN if it is a dare. We are awesome... below you can see the words of Chris, who I would refer to as our inspiration and founder.
"Amber is so freakin’ awesome at vocals. She nailed it every time. Seriously she IS a rock star. Shane is awesome at the guitar and vocals. Particularly songs where he had to scream a lot. Dave is amazing at the drums. He goes so fast you can barley see the sticks move. Chris is pretty good at the bass. He loves to sing even though he sucks at it. Greg is one awesome cuddler. He cuddled Nicole on the couch all night and he is pretty amazing at vocals and guitar too. Susan had to leave early, but will rock out next time!"
We will begin our tour soon, but watch for our amazing music videos on You Tube! Rock on everyone, Rock on!

You requested...

A couple of you have asked to see pictures of my eye. For some reason it hasn't all cleared up yet, so here is my best effort to get you pictures. Apparently it is really hard to take good pictures of your eyeball. Haha!!
Also, check out my first report for the college newscast! This is my first story that has been on the air, so there will be plenty more to come! Go to http://www.newsbreak.utah.edu/ and scroll down until you see, The U's Dance Department Ranks Third In The U.S. You can click 'video Mp4' and view the report.

My eye... Update
I should have taken bets to see who the winner of the freaky eye trivia would be... Ok, so I went to the doctor yesterday preparing myself for some terrible cancer of the eye news and I had already started picking out my replacement wood eye. There I sit in the waiting room filling out the medical history chart. Do you wear glasses? No. Do you have a history of eye disease in your family? No. Do you have any previous medical conditions? No. Do you take medication? No. Did you poke yourself in the eye? No, no, no. I mean how have a contracted this weird eye malfunction when all my answers are no? Finally they call me in, do an eye test - 20/20. Fabulous, at least the freaky bump hasn't affected my vision. The doctor comes in, shines many bright lights in my eyes (both), hooks me up to a few machines, takes some samples, touches, prods and stares. Looks at me and says... you have sun damage and now it has become infected. OH - crap! He continues, what has happened is you have a lifetime (24 years exactly) of being in the sun and not protecting your eyes properly. Now, something has irritated the sun damaged spot in your right eye and it has become infected and inflammed. OH - Great! He continues, what you will need to do now is drop an antibiotic in your eye 4 times a day for two weeks. This should bring the swelling down and heal the infection. I ask, and the sun damage, can I repair that? No, he says, sunglasses are very important when you're out in the sun, you need to wear them all the time, even in the winter.
So this is my plug for Sunglasses... if you don't wear them you will get sun damage, if something irriates the sun damage, you will get a bump, if you don't go to the doctor when you get the bump (he says) it will grow over your entire eye. Let's start at the top, wear sunglasses. I have about 15 pairs... I think I will start wearing them. :)

What is this freaky thing on my eye!?!
Ok, so for about a year Bryce had been telling me that I had this yellow spot on my eye. Well I just thought it was a part of who I was, character if you will. Until now... for the last week this itty bitty tiny yellow spot on my right eye has grown into this not so itty bitty big yellow BUMP! Day by day it seems to get a little bigger and a little more irritating. I was sure it would just go away until yesterday when I could feel it when I blink and felt a little ache in my eye. I made an appointment with an Opthamologist yesterday, but they can't see me until Thursday, yes THURSDAY! The very helpful receptionist had no suggestions to halt the growth of my new bump so for 2 more days I will wait and hope it doesn't take over the entire thing. Oh man, what is this freaky thing??

Little Blessing #1

My New Year began with 2 deaths that made me realize how easily we let life's little (and big) blessings slip through our fingers. Typically, I don't make new years resolutions but this year I am resolving to take notice of all my life's little blessings, in no particular order.
Little Blessing #1... Great Friends
"Friendship multiplies the good of life and divides the evil."
- Baltasar Gracian (1647)
I couldn't ask for better friends from all walks of my life. Beginning with preschool up to now I have made and kept some of the best friends I could have ever asked for. To all my friends, those who have been around since the age of 2 or those who have been around for 2 months, thank you. Thank you for your love, support, wisdom, advise, gracious compliments, humor, hugs, example and kindness. Just thank you for you, you truly are a blessing.
(Pictured are some of my best friends from high school, but you don't have to be in this picture to know I'm talking about you!)
